30 Paintings in 30 Days

Technically, the idea behind this project was to post a couple of paintings every couple of days. Me, I’m a bit of a procrastinator. I also fell a bit behind, but finished up yesterday with exactly 31 paintings (one for each day of the month). The other thing was that typically this is done with traditional painting. With canvas. And paints with real brushes. I’m still in transition with homes and the idea of storing 30 canvases sort of scared me. So I decided I would do all of these as digital paintings.

Now, initially, the idea was to do them all in Corel Painter because I figured it would be a good way to force me to learn the program. Boy was I out of my mind to think that. Corel hates my laptop, lagging galore, and I’m without my bamboo right now so all I have is the touch screen of the laptop and my mouse. So, the first three paintings were in Corel. The rest? I did them in photoshop. I’m just so much better in photoshop.

Some of them I like, some of them I don’t. Either way, it gives me a nice catch of background resources for my 3D portrait work. 🙂

All images were created the same size with the same dpi.

Next month? I have a black and white photography project planned. I also realize that February only has 29 days, but there will still be 31 photos once I’m finished. I kind of like the idea of doing something like this once a month.

    Ok, I love these!

Yay! I did realize by the time I did the last painting that I really need to make some new brushes. But I was pretty pleased with how much I varied the pictures with what I did have 🙂 Color got to be a lot of fun to play with.

They are lovely!!! Sometimes I wish I could do that kind of thing but I’ll stick with photography and try to become good at that instead.
These are lovely to use as website graphics.

You know me, I can’t seem to concentrate in dabbling in any one thing. Sometimes I wonder if I’d actually be able to fully master something if I’d just stick with a single thing. But then, where’s the fun in that? 🙂

That was my other plan. Website graphics. It’s also one of the reasons I got interested in doing more photoshop images. I was trying not to accidentally steal someone else’s work that may not appreciate their work being used in webdesign.

LOL, I know all about fiddling with lots of different things. I may seem focused on photography and CSS, but other than that I try to play five different musical instruments…. 🙂

Oh those are beautiful – I love your use of colour and texture!

      Thanks! 🙂
