So some disappointing news, the person who had planned to buy my townhome seems to have backed out. He may change his mind yet if he fails to prove he can’t get the financing and didn’t just get cold feet. Apparently, there was a bit of a snaffu with things and he got frustrated by the whole process. Part of the agreement was a $1000 in earnest money because he needed some skin in the game. He may have to forfeit that and that’s a lot of money to give up.
Especially when he realizes it. I’m letting my realtor handle this because its just way easier to let her handle things. All I know is I don’t like being yanked around and don’t put an offer down not to follow through because of cold feet (which is what this is sounding like).
There was another interested party from out of town, but he seemed to want to lease the property (rent to own type of situation). I said absolutely no way. If anything, I’m saving the gentleman a two hour drive because I’m selling the property, I want no responsibility for it. If someone wants it that badly, they can get the financing to buy it. After losing nearly 10 grand on the property because of a renter, I just want to wash my hands of the whole thing.
I’m still feeling a bit disappointed, but I”m also keeping my head up because where there is one offer, there’s more to follow. Positive thoughts means positive action (or that’s what I’m going to tell myself).
