Kaia

For my birthday, I bought myself a new computer and I’m having so much fun with it. Minus a small error from the company (forgotten hard drive). I pulled up the programs I haven’t been using in a while and decided to work up another picture. Kaia is an old character that I use to roleplay (like so many of my images). She was an ancient old sorceress hoping to be reborn into the new world after cursing the man who killed her.

Been thinking about revisiting some of that old writing to revamp it, but I’m not sure I’m at that point yet with myself. I’ll start with making pretty pictures first.

This then triggered me to update the website and go back to the Twenty Fifteen theme. I was hoping the Twenty Eighteen theme would be out, but didn’t realize it had gotten pushed off to the spring for release. That doesn’t mean I may not spend the time working with other themes. I think 2018 is going to be pretty awesome, but I’ll write more about that after the New Year!

    • Thank you! *hugs* With the way things have been for myself over the last few years, having a new system that I was able to customize to what I wanted is really nice. I didn’t realize how dated my previous other machine was becoming (I was starting to get some bad lag with my 3D work that it was frustrating). And of course when you feel inspired about things, you find yourself moving from project to project without even pausing to think about it!

  1. Isn’t it nice with new computers!! Mine is almost one year now but it still feels like new.
It’ll be interesting to see how the twenty eighteen theme will be like. I’ve never really liked WordPress’s own themes, I think this one is the closest to something I could use. Most of them have too small content areas (I want space for large photos!), I’ve never understood that trend.

    • My old system was probably about 7 or 8 years old, but it was so Frankenstein’d together that I’m not sure how it lasted as long as it did. Despite the minor missing drive that failed to get installed (which I should be getting soon), I had other backups I could add to the system so I could at least play with the new hardware! And having wireless that works is really refreshing and nice.

I think I’m the opposite with the themes, granted there’s only a few that I like to mess with from the wordpress side. I love the themes with the huge use of space, but I don’t take nearly as many pictures such as yourself; so themes that center around an image or a featured image tend not to be useful to me lol It’s probably one of my grievances when I find a really lovely looking theme, but it requires images in every post to get it to look good *cries*

Twenty Fifteen from a personal blog point of view is probably the best of the bunch because it’s simple and can highlight my writing too with no worry about an image needed.

      • Haha, I actually think featured images are annoying too. I use them only because the blog feed looks better with them (if I use that sort of theme, which I do now) but usually for the full post I use CSS to hide them or modify the PHP if possible to remove them from the single post page.
