Time. Probably one of my number one biggest complaints when it comes to balancing the adulting activities with the “fun” activities. This morning, we spent it moving a rickety, unsturdy, falling apart dining room table out of the way to make way for a new really sturdy dining room table. After that, we spent a good bit of time outside shoveling snow. SNOW. IN FEBRUARY. It never snows anymore in February.
We’re getting another front of snow that’s looking to be at least another foot altogether. My phone will not stop buzzing with warnings about roads. I wish it was lighter outside though, Tyr absolutely adores the snow and could probably play nonstop in it.
After a lot of discussion and some budgeting, we started taking the puppies to doggy daycare. They started last week and I think it was one of the best puppy parent decisions we’ve made so far. It wasn’t so much that I was worried about Luna, it was Tyr that I had some concerns with that I wanted to makes sure we got addressed. The doggy daycare helps us with a few things: training and socializing is the biggest reasons for taking him. Exercise was another one because Tyr has so much energy, he wears me out. I almost wish we had a kid that could wear him out for me periodically.
I managed to post four times in September between everything going on, and I’ve decided to take that as a victory. This month, I’m going to make it to the magical number of 5 posts.
Truthfully though, I’m exhausted. We’ve had so much going on between personal life and work; and there is so much more in the foreseeable future. Thinking about it makes me feel more exhausted. What makes this even worse is I have no idea how to summarize any of the going-ons that have been happening in a coherent manner. So a few of the more positive highlights that I feel pretty darn proud of:
I’ve gotten to get to know Beau’s mom over the last few days. She’s a sweet lady. But, truthfully, I’m a bit exhausted. It was just me and her the first two days because of Beau’s schedule. Today is his birthday, so he finally got his first day off in the last two weeks. But is currently doing homework. We did get an epic nap scheduled in because someone was there to take care of the Tyr monster. I should say Tyr is a monster, but puppy is a little monster.
He’s a little terror and has good days and bad. Doesn’t like to be without us (some separation anxiety… a part of the breed), but he’s getting better when he realizes that we always come back. Eats like a horse. And loves chewing on his big sister Luna. Also, does not know what to think of Smudge since she sounds and moves differently and is most certainly not a dog.
